Well, hell. This apartment in Mermoz has been great, overall. I ran us out of Internet a couple of times, but we had never had the power cut.
Third week’s the charm, I guess. I was right about to run some package maintenance on one of my servers when I noticed a lack of LED action on some chargers sitting on the desk.
So, no more work this morning. Hopefully it’ll get reconnected in a few hours.
A Few Hours Later..
It only took a couple of hours for power to come back. By then, however, a lack of coffee and sleep got to me, and I napped until my phone rang, Sarah calling from our front door.
The outage was likely caused by construction work on one of the several buildings nearby getting built. For example, there is a tall apartment tower next door, built right up to the wall of the building I’m in.
At some point I’ll write a little about the construction and architecture here. There’s some real creativity.
