I’ve been happily transitioning to Affinity from Adobe for image and design tools, but I still maintain a Creative Cloud subscription for a few reasons. One of the biggest, is access to Adobe Fonts; without it, licensing just one or two commercial fonts would nearly cover the cost of a year’s subscription. I appreciate the advancements in free fonts, but Google and open-source fonts are just not quite there for me yet, especially when it comes to strong thematic types.
However, Adobe Fonts do not play nicely with Blender; the files are stored separately from other TrueType and OpenType files. It’s pain to manage them manually; I’m not even sure if doing so violates the End User License or not. But I no longer have to worry about it.
FontBank, a Blender add on, is a lifesaver. Once installed, it appears in the Tool Shelf and grants instant access to your Adobe Fonts library in addition to your regularly installed fonts. If you use Blender and Adobe Fonts, you need it.
